I love to write and watch the Cowboys. Why do I love the Cowboys so much? It’s simple. My neighbor was a Redskins fan and I hated the Redskins. We all know Redskin fans hate the Dallas Cowboys, so it was a great progression for me lol!! I always invite him over to watch the Cowboys destroy the Redskins. Still trying to convert him, though.

I started watching NFL football in 1975 when I was nine-years-old and living in southern Mississippi. About all you could watch back then were the Saints since they were the closest regional NFL team.

One Sunday, I turned on the TV and saw this team with a star on their helmet. The clouds parted, the sky opened, and a choir of angels began singing the Hallelujah chorus. It was the coolest logo that I had ever seen!

Then, my eyes were drawn to a player who wore #12. He danced, ran, and threw with such beauty. I remember thinking, “This guy can’t be stopped!” I watched the whole game completely riveted to the aura of the Dallas Cowboys.

A year later, my parents called me in to their room and announced that we were moving. I asked where, and they said, “Dallas, TX.”

I don’t remember hitting the floor, and as they say…the rest is history.
